Elizabeth: “Attending LEWB’s Workshop Was An Eye-Opening Experience!”
“Attending the LEWB (Learn English with Bathabile) women's workshop was such an eye-opening experience. Our topic for the day was personal growth. I must say I discovered a lot about myself through the questions asked. I also learned a lot from the innovative ideas shared by the attendees.
As we dove deeper into discussions, it became clear that personal growth isn't just about achieving specific goals; it's about embracing the journey, acknowledging our fears, and celebrating our successes, no matter how small. Each participant brought unique perspectives, which fostered an environment of trust and vulnerability. By sharing our stories, we realised that many of us had similar struggles, whether it was overcoming self-doubt or managing work-life balance.
One of the most impactful exercises we engaged in involved identifying our personal values. This deeply reflective activity forced us to confront what truly matters in our lives. I found myself prioritising honesty and connection more than I had anticipated. It was fascinating to hear how others prioritised aspects like creativity and resilience, revealing the diverse motivations that drive us each day.
The workshop also included breakout sessions, where small groups brainstormed actionable steps to foster personal growth. I was part of a group focusing on the importance of mentorship. We shared experiences of how mentors had shaped our paths and discussed ways to cultivate these relationships in our own lives. This sparked a realisation: mentorship isn't a one-way street. We could all be both mentors and mentees in different contexts, learning from one another and contributing to each other's growth.
As the day progressed, we were encouraged to set intentions for our personal growth journey. I wrote down my intention to step outside my comfort zone more often, whether by embracing new experiences or simply initiating conversations with people I admire. I felt empowered knowing that each participant was making their own commitments, and it felt like a collective awakening was taking place.
By the end of the day, I left with not only a clearer vision of my personal growth path but also a network of inspiring women who shared the same aspiration for self-discovery and empowerment. I realised that personal growth is a lifelong pursuit, and it thrives in the company of others who challenge and inspire us. This workshop was just the beginning of what I hope will be a transformative journey, not just for me, but for all the incredible women I met that day. Together, we can lift each other up and forge paths that lead to a brighter, more fulfilling future.”
